The exact list of your documents, tailored to your situation
A permanent residence application is rarely decided on your score — it is decided on your documents. Answer eleven questions and you get the list of what you must gather, and above all what gets applications refused or delayed, drawn from what we see every week at the office.
Without an account, your answers stay in your browser and are erased when the page reloads. Signed in, they are kept in your account — we do not read them, unless you message us yourself at the end.

We have been assembling complete files for five years, including those that receive a procedural fairness letter. A review before filing always costs less than a refusal.
This list follows the requirements published by IRCC on canada.ca and our daily practice.
It helps you get organised but does not replace a review of your file: every situation has its own specifics.

What does a permanent residence application really cost?
The question everyone asks first, and the one rarely answered in full. Here is the complete picture: IRCC fees in dollars and what you will pay here in Cameroon.
Your situation
Age matters for two things: the medical exam, whose fee changes by bracket, and biometrics, free for a child aged 13 or under.
Today's rate
Fees paid to IRCC — in Canadian dollars (CAD)
Rates in force since 30 April 2026. IRCC re-indexes its fees every two years: check them before paying.
Costs paid here, in Cameroon
These prices vary with the centre, the provider and your own file: nobody can set them for you. Enter yours — the total follows at once.
This does not include your flight or your settlement. Budget those separately: they come later, and they are prepared differently.
A badly estimated budget makes people give up midway, often after the hardest spending is already done. Better to know now.
Everything is computed in your browser: nothing is sent. This estimate helps you plan; it does not replace IRCC's official fee schedule. Immigration Voyages is not affiliated with IRCC or the Government of Canada.

The document that earns your education points
What the credential assessment (ECA) is for, and why it blocks so many files
Your Cameroonian diploma means nothing to IRCC until an approved organization has written
what it corresponds to in Canada. Without this document, your years of study are worth
no points, and the profile starts with an amputated score.
📌 An assessment is valid for 5 years. Do it early:
it is the slowest document to obtain, because it depends not on you but on your university.
The approved organizations
Where to request it
IRCC accepts only eight — five for all credentials, three reserved for one profession. From Cameroon, WES is the most used:
it works in French, accepts documents sent by Cameroonian universities,
and its report is recognized everywhere.
Organization
For whom
Worth knowing
WES — World Education Services
All credentials
The most common from French-speaking Africa. Electronic report sent directly to IRCC.
ICAS — International Credential Assessment Service of Canada
All credentials
An alternative, sometimes with shorter delays. Recommended for nurses.
CES — Comparative Education Service, University of Toronto
All credentials
Paper report, often slower.
IQAS — International Qualifications Assessment Service (Alberta)
All credentials
Provincial organization, recognized across Canada. Recommended for nurses.
ICES — International Credential Evaluation Service (BCIT, British Columbia)
All credentials
Provincial organization, recognized across Canada. Can also send the results digitally.
MCC — Medical Council of Canada
Physicians NOC 31100, 31101, 31102
Specialists in clinical or laboratory medicine, specialists in surgery, general practitioners and family physicians.
PEBC — Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada
Pharmacists NOC 31120
Community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, long-term care facility.
CACB — Canadian Architectural Certification Board
Architects NOC 21200
Added by IRCC on 20 May 2024. An assessment obtained elsewhere before 31 October 2024 remains valid.
⚠️ For a physician, the MCC is mandatory, licence or not. The other two apply only if your occupation requires a licence to practise.
An architect employed as a project manager, a pharmacist in a position that requires no licence:
a general organization from the top list is enough. The licence decides, not the diploma.
The path, start to finish
How it works, concretely
Open your file with the organization
You create an account online, you pay, and the organization gives you a reference number.
That number is what your university must write on its envelope.
⚠️ Write your name exactly as on your passport. One letter of
difference between the assessment report and the passport, and IRCC asks for explanations.
Ask your university to send your documents
Diploma and transcripts for every year. The capital point:
the university sends them, in a sealed and stamped envelope, directly to the organization.
⚠️ A file sent by yourself is rejected. It is the most frequent
mistake, and it costs weeks: everything must be restarted.
The organization verifies with the institution
It writes to your university to confirm the diploma is authentic. This is the step
that takes time, and it depends neither on you nor on the organization.
⚠️ Follow up with your university. Many files sleep because
nobody over there opened the mail.
You receive the report
It says what your diploma corresponds to in Canada — “Canadian bachelor's degree”, “master's”…
That sentence decides your points. The report also goes to IRCC.
⚠️ Check the announced level before creating your profile: that is
what you must declare, not the name of your Cameroonian diploma.
What to plan for
How long, how much
The delay depends almost entirely on your university. Count several weeks,
sometimes several months — start there, not at the end.
The cost sits around CAD 250 to 300 depending on the organization and the type of report,
plus sending the documents from Cameroon.
Check the current fee on the organization's website: it changes.
💡 A second diploma can bring points.
A bachelor's degree and a BTS/HND count as “two or more credentials”: +8 CRS points for education
(128 instead of 120, without a partner), and +12 to +25 in skill transferability if you have
at least CLB 7 in all four abilities. This level requires two post-secondary credentials,
one of them of at least three years. If that is not your case, paying for a second assessment
will bring you nothing — the eligibility test tells you plainly.
And your employment letter — is it complete?
It is the other document that gets files refused. Check it in one minute.
French is the most profitable subject of an Express Entry file: it opens the
French-speaking category of the draws. The TCF Canada is one of the two French tests
accepted by IRCC — here is exactly what to expect, and what your scores are worth. The Prépa TCF topics come up again at the exam: working through all of them, in full, maximises your chances of facing, on test day, a topic you have already practised.
📌 The attestation is valid for 2 years. It must be
valid when you submit your application: take the test early enough to aim for the draws,
late enough to cover the whole process.
Four papers, all mandatory

For Express Entry, all four papers are required — both comprehensions
and both expressions. Everything happens the same day, at the exam centre.

that is the door to the French-speaking category of the Express Entry draws, and every
level above still brings points.

How it works, concretely
Book your session
In Cameroon, the TCF Canada is held at the Institut français (Douala and Yaoundé, via
TLScontact) and in the Alliances françaises of Bamenda, Buea and Garoua — with the
Ngaoundéré and Maroua branches. The registration links for every centre are gathered in
our Useful links. Seats go fast: book
several weeks ahead, and count about two more weeks for the results.
⚠️ Register with your identity document (national identity card
or passport), with your name written exactly as on your documents — it is the
same document you will be asked for on exam day, and the name IRCC will read.
Would you rather not deal with it? We book your
seat for you — TCF, IELTS or TEF, and our preparation courses bring you up to level.
The TCF is not something you “try”, it is something you prepare: the difficulty climbs fast, and the gap between
NCLC 6 and NCLC 7 comes down to a few questions. Work all four papers —
your lowest score decides your category.
⚠️ Special care for the written expression: it is
the paper that most often prevents a test from reaching its goal. Practise
writing in real conditions, with correction — not just reading model answers.
And the speaking paper is prepared out loud, under time limits.
Exam day
Arrive early, with the identity document you registered with. In the listening paper,
each recording plays only once — concentration is the hidden test.
⚠️ Leave no box empty in the multiple-choice questions:
there are no negative points, an attempted answer always beats a blank.
Your results
You receive an attestation with one score per paper. Convert them to NCLC with the
table above — those are the levels you will declare in your profile.
⚠️ A single skill below NCLC 7 closes the French-speaking category.
Retaking the test is often the most profitable investment of the whole file.
Train in real conditions
Our online TCF Prep: complete subjects timed like exam day, explained corrections,
estimated NCLC level at every test.
IRCC refuses any file above 4 MB, and a compilation of documents exceeds it fast. Drop your PDF: the tool shows you the size it would have in light, medium or high compression, BEFORE you choose. 📚 You can drop several at once: choose one level, and they are compressed one after another, each with its own download button. 🔒 Your document never leaves your device: everything happens in your browser, nothing is sent.

Get your PDF under the 4 MB bar
Drop your PDF and choose the lightest level that is enough.
Check that every page stays readable: if the text turns blurry, split your documents
into two PDFs rather than compressing harder. At the end, choose where to save the file.

… or drag them here — one or several at a time
Always re-read the compressed file
before sending it: you validate it, not the site.
📄 What is this tool for?
Your employment reference letter is the document IRCC scrutinises the most. Drop it (Word, PDF or photo) or paste its text: the tool checks that it contains everything IRCC requires — title, dates, hours, salary, duties, signatory, and tells you exactly what to have your employer add. Nothing is sent: everything happens in your browser. What IRCC expects from this letter, and the seven mistakes that cause refusals, are explained in our guide Employment letter for Express Entry.
🔒
Your letter does not leave your device. Nothing is sent, nothing is stored:
the check runs entirely in your browser. You can even switch off the Internet
after opening this page.
Drop the file here, or click.
It is not sent: it is read in your browser.
Copy everything, including the dates and the signatory's name — that is where omissions hide.

Your experience can be set aside, and the points with it.
What a text cannot prove
To check yourself, on the paper
📌 This tool looks for words in a text:
it may fail to recognise information that is actually there. So it says “I did not find it”,
never “it is absent”, and every point carries a box to tell it so. When in doubt,
have the letter reviewed.
🔗 The next step: a complete letter is not enough if it contradicts your pay slips or your proof of funds. The consistency check compares your documents with each other, the way an officer does.
A question about your letter?
Ask it publicly: the answer will serve everyone with the same employer, the same occupation, the same doubt.
Enter the dates you have (language test, invitation, submission, biometrics, medical exam…): the tool calculates your deadlines, flags collisions between them and estimates a decision date as a guide — instead of refreshing your IRCC account into the void.
Enter what you have
Your dates
Even a single one is enough to start. Everything recalculates at every entry.
Countdown — ITA submission deadline
What it gives
Your deadlines
⏱ “6 months” is a standard, not a promise.
IRCC aims for this delay on 80% of complete applications. An extra check or a missing
document stretches it, and a missing document can be planned for:
check the consistency of your documents.
📍 Your two physical appointments —

Addresses & directories panel.
A date worries you?

Find a notary or a licensed microfinance institution
A statement issued by an unlicensed institution weakens the proof of funds, and a notarised
deed gives its paper to every large deposit (gift, sale, inheritance: unexplained money is what
worries IRCC). Check here, before travelling.
Cameroon's notaries 68
The 2019 list of notaries holding an office, published by the National Chamber of Notaries
of Cameroon — the eight regions covered, with each office's address and contacts.
Licensed microfinance institutions 384
The list of licensed microfinance institutions, published by the Ministry of Finance
(as of 31 December 2025: it announces 385 institutions, its list details 384).
A note under the name flags institutions under provisional administration, that have ceased
operations or are in liquidation. The category says what the institution is allowed to do:
category 1 serves only its members, category 2 takes deposits from the public, category 3 lends without collecting.
Your regular bank is not concerned by this list.
Do your documents tell the same story?
Deeds, statements, employment letter: the consistency check spots the gaps an officer would see.
IRCC summons Express Entry candidates to interviews in Cameroon. A summons is not a refusal: it is a credibility check — the officer confirms your file tells the truth, and lets you explain what deserves explaining. This panel trains you with the questions actually asked.
The big day
The documents to bring
IRCC's summons and an identity document — the passports of every member included in the file
The originals of everything submitted: diplomas, transcripts, employment letters, police certificates, language results
UP-TO-DATE financial proof: your statements since submission — the officer looks at whether the funds are still there
If a spouse is on the file: lease in both names, joint account, dated photos, exchanges — daily life that can be proven
Every document cited in the application, sorted by theme in a folder: searching for a document in front of the officer makes a bad impression
🧭 The only rule that counts: consistency. Same version as the file, short and true answers, never an invention — the officer watches spontaneity, not recitation. And everything about housing must match the lease submitted.
The path, start to finish
How it works, concretely
The summons arrives
It lands in your IRCC account (and by e-mail), with the place, date and time —
the letter is what counts for everything. Tell us as soon as you receive it: we prepare
together, there is always time to do it well.
⚠️ Reply quickly and never ask for a postponement without a serious reason —
an ignored summons can close the file.
The day before
Re-read your own file — dates, amounts, addresses, names, and sort the
folder by theme. Scout the route: arriving early removes half the stress.
⚠️ Knowing your file is not learning a text: the officer
recognises recitation, and it plays against you.
During the interview
Direct questions, sometimes the same ones asked differently. Answer short and true,
from what you actually lived. Did not understand? Asking to rephrase is a right —
better than answering beside the point. If your spouse is summoned too, you may be
heard separately: your answers will be crossed.
⚠️ Do not fill the silences: saying too much always says too much.
Being honestly mistaken and correcting it beats a beautiful false answer.
Afterwards
The decision almost never falls on the spot: it arrives in your account —
acceptance, request for additional documents, or a procedural fairness letter.
The latter can be defended:
a file is not lost,
several of our clients received their PPR after a well-answered fairness letter.
⚠️ A delay after the interview is not a refusal. Change nothing in your
file without talking to us.
The trainer
The questions they really ask
Nine themes: questions from real interviews, completed with those officers like to ask. For each one: what the officer is looking for. Train yourself to answer out loud, from your own life — it is your file you must know, not a text.
🧩 What is this tool for?
Refusals often fall on an inconsistency the candidate did not see: a salary that does not match the statements, funds that appeared all at once. Enter your figures: the tool confronts them the way the officer will, and flags what is off while there is still time to explain it.
1. The proof of funds
IRCC does not ask for a figure: it asks for your statements of the last six
months and reads their history. What counts is what those statements show month after month.
…
Does your bank's letter contain:
2. Your pay slips against your employment letter
This is the cross-check the officer makes: if the letter announces an annual salary
that the slips do not show, doubt falls on the whole file.
📌 This tool compares what YOU enter.
It does not read your documents and does not replace them: it shows the gaps an officer would see.
To check the employment letter itself, use the
letter checker.
A doubt about a document?
Ask the question: the answer will serve everyone with the same bank or the same employer.
